Local manufacturer Mike Davidson developed a Savonius turbine that we were able to test in the University of Adelaide's wind tunnel. The testing was facilitated by a Council grant of $4k. It was the first time the tunnel had been used for a commercial project. Mr Davidson has since sold several units along the coast. It is to be hoped a local turbine industry can flourish.
